Murrah Federal Building was bombed in 1995 in Oklahoma City, James Klingbeil was one of the first members of the Urban Land Institute Foundation to be named.
Since then, he's donated more than $11 million to the foundation, which was established in 1970 by 17 original donors, known as governors, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Now, with a $1 million donation from Klingbeil through the Klingbeil Family Foundation, the foundation will support the ULI's Advisory Services program, which "has provided holistic and tailored land use solutions and best practices to cities and communities for the past 75 years," ULI says in a press release.
"Over decades of community engagement through ULI, I have discovered that the exchange of ideas and search for solutions that ULI's Advisory Services panels entail are next to none," Klingbeil says.
"The experience during and results of the panels often have a lasting impact beyond the communities they studyincluding on the panelists themselves who generously donate their time and expertise," he adds.
Klingbeil is the founder and CEO emeritus of Klingbeil Capital Management, a national real estate company.
